Molecular Cytogenetics

FISH analysis and Karyotyping

Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) is a molecular cytogenetic technique that can detect chromosomal abnormalities that cannot be detected by standard karyotyping. We offer genome-wide FISH analysis utilizing all commercial available FISH probes as well as custom designed FISH probes.

A chromosomal analysis like karyotyping examines a person’s chromosomes to determine if the right number is present and to determine if each chromosome appears normal. It requires experience and expertise to perform properly and to interpret the results.

Pränatal-Medizin München has over 20 years of experience in molecular cytogenetics and we offer prenatal and postnatal FISH analysis and karyotyping for a broad range of diagnostic indications.
